ESPAÑA SE UNE A LA CELEBRACIÓN MUNDIAL del 13 de septiembre como Día Internacional de las Cuevas y el Karst

Spain joins the global celebration of September 13 as International Cave and Karst Day.

La SEDECK (Sociedad Española de Espeleología y Ciencias del Karst) se moviliza para la celebración en España del primer Día Internacional de las Cuevas y el Karst (IDCK). Para ello celebrará, junto a otras entidades científicas, una Jornada de Divulgación Científica de las Cuevas y el Karst. La Jornada se celebrará en Madrid la semana posterior al domingo 13 de septiembre. Las entidades coorganizadoras de esta Jornada, junto a la SEDECK, serán la RAC (Real Academia de Ciencias Exactas, Físicas y Naturales) y la SEDPGYM (Sociedad Española para la Defensa del Patrimonio Geológico y Minero).

SEDECK (Spanish Society of Speleology and Karst Sciences) is mobilizing to mark the first International Day of Caves and Karst (IDCK) in Spain. To this end, it will hold a scientific outreach event dedicated to caves and karst, in collaboration with other scientific organizations. The event will take place in Madrid during the week following Sunday, September 13. Co-organizing the event alongside SEDECK will be the RAC (Royal Academy of Exact, Physical, and Natural Sciences) and the SEDPGYM (Spanish Society for the Defense of Geological and Mining Heritage).

Del 7 al 13 de septiembre y conmemorando el IDCK, la SEDECK publicará diariamente en su web (www.sedeck.org) siete videos breves y noticias sobre diferentes Lugares de Interés Espeleológico (LIE) declarados hasta la fecha en España. Estos videos y noticias se replicarán asimismo en las redes sociales de la SEDECK (FB, IG, X, TT…) y también en la sede electrónica de la SEDPGYM (Sociedad Española para la Defensa del Patrimonio Geológico y Minero).

From September 7 to 13, in observance of International Cave and Karst Day (IDCK), SEDECK will publish—on a daily basis on its website (www.sedeck.org)—seven short videos and news items regarding the various Sites of Speleological Interest (LIE) designated in Spain to date. These videos and updates will also be shared across SEDECK’s social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, etc.) and on the digital platform of SEDPGYM (Spanish Society for the Defense of Geological and Mining Heritage).

Por otra parte, la primera semana de septiembre, la SEDECK enviará a sus más de 200 socios y a las entidades científicas con las que nos relacionamos habitualmente una circular destacando la importancia de celebrar y compartir este próximo 13 de septiembre IDCK, publicitándolo en redes y en todos los medios al alcance.

Furthermore, during the first week of September, SEDECK will send a circular to its more than 200 members and the scientific organizations with which it regularly collaborates, highlighting the importance of celebrating and sharing the upcoming International Day of Cave and Karst (IDCK) on September 13th, and promoting it across social media and all available channels.

También a principios de septiembre la SEDECK distribuirá una NOTA DE PRENSA dirigida a las principales agencias, medios y plataformas de difusión, incluidos TV y radio.

Finalmente, toda esta campaña de difusión y sus resultados formarán parte de un informe que la SEDECK elaborará a posteriori para dejar constancia, publicándolo en los medios de difusión de la SEDECK y en noticias de prensa.

Also in early September, SEDECK will distribute a press release to major agencies, media outlets, and broadcasting platforms, including TV and radio.

Finally, this entire outreach campaign and its results will be included in a report that SEDECK will prepare afterward to document the initiative, publishing it via SEDECK’s own channels and in press coverage.
